MEDIA RELEASE: Governance.com announces CEO transition

Luxembourg, 9 January 2024. Governance.com, a leading process automation platform for the asset management industry, announces a strategic leadership transition. Founder Bert Boerman will assume the role of Chairman and Director of Strategic Growth while handing over the CEO role to Ian Atkinson.

Ian is a seasoned industry professional and, as COO & CCO, has led the company’s client implementations and business development over the last two years.

The CEO change allows the company to capitalise on the high demand for its solutions and the rapid growth of the process automation business while boosting its focus on clients and innovation. Having led the business for ten years since co-founding Governance.com with his twin brother Rob, Bert Boerman comments on the transition:

“Handing over the leadership of a company you have co-founded is not a step to be taken lightly. But since we are in the business of change, we know that different phases of a company’s evolution require different leadership approaches. This transition is a natural step in our company's journey. Ian’s experience and expertise make him the logical choice to lead Governance.com into the future. As Chairman and Director of Strategic Growth, I am excited to collaborate more closely with our valued clients, ensuring that our solutions align with their evolving needs and expectations.”
Ian Atkinson, CEO of Governance.com, comments: “I am truly honoured and energised to step into the CEO role at Governance.com. Working alongside our esteemed co-founders, Bert and Rob Boerman, I am grateful for the opportunity to lead this exceptional company into its next phase. Our focus for the upcoming year is clear: to continue to innovate and expand our product, stay ahead in the evolving market, and champion fintech adoption within financial services. I look forward to achieving new milestones with our dedicated teams and contributing to the market's digital transformation.”
